Hello there! I'm Jess, a masters degree counselor who strongly believes in the resilience of the human spirit. As someone who has had to "bounce back" several times in my own life, I understand how powerful authentic, transparent, and focused support can be. I am an advocate of self-love, empathetic communication, and the pursuit of a peaceful existence. I seek to collaborate with my clients to assist them in healing from past traumas, finding purpose, and utilizing gratitude to create a life of happiness and fulfillment. I am a biracial, professional female bodybuilder and former personal trainer, who grew up on the East Coast but spent summers in California. I became a personal trainer and bodybuilder after struggling with obesity from childhood through college, ultimately losing 120lbs and changing the trajectory of my life. I enjoy the influence of music, spending time with my family, and, most of all, I love to laugh!

I earned a bachelor’s degree in criminology and criminal justice from the University of Maryland, College Park and a master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from Southern New Hampshire University. After earning licensure from Maryland state and the District of Columbia, I intend to work toward licensure in sex therapy as I pursue my Ph.D., researching the dynamics of monogamy, polyamory, and ethical non-monogamy.

I practice individual and couples counseling, specializing in conflict resolution, trauma-focused care, depression, anxiety, and sex positive, kink affirming therapy. I work largely with the LGBTQ+ community and am an advocate for gender affirming care.

I utilize several theory-based treatment approaches, including REBT (rational emotive behavior therapy) which focuses on cognitive restructuring of intrusive/negative thoughts, in addition to DBT (dialectical behavior therapy) focusing on radical acceptance, emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and mindfulness.

Jess provides individual therapy, couples & relationship therapy, and sex positive, kink affirming therapy.
