My approach to therapy is person centered, feminist and ecological. I am a firm believer in the power of community and accessing the resources that already exist in the lives of my clients. I work with clients to identify and foster their strengths, hold kind space for their challenges, and create a strong positive relationship with themselves. Through therapy we will work together to determine strategies for coping with challenges and daily life, develop interpersonal skills, and increase awareness of self. I believe that each client is the expert on their own lives and experiences, and that my role as a clinician is to be a helping hand as you navigate your present reality. I aim to help clients experience the transformative and healing power of relationships through therapy, and to equip them to be able to build and nourish relationships outside of therapy that bring meaning and satisfaction to their lives.

As a Black queer and gender-queer therapist, I am committed to employing anti-racist and decolonial strategies during therapy. I have experience working with adolescents, adults and couples from diverse backgrounds, including LGBTQIA+ identities, marginalized racial and ethnic identities, those with disabilities, asylum seekers and refugees, and people in polyamorous/expansive relationships. My commitment as a therapist is to create a warm, inclusive and welcoming environment for all of my clients and especially those who are BIPOC, queer and trans. As a Maryland native with deep familial roots in Baltimore City, my practice and past is grounded in Baltimore. I have experience working as a teacher and facilitator with youth and adults in Baltimore. I have also had experience helping with mutual aid networks and queer/trans community organizing. Baltimore is my home and I have so much love for the city and the people who live here. I provide trauma informed care that continuously integrates the client’s past experiences and creates room for positive change to occur. Through my masters program at Johns Hopkins University, I received training in cognitive behavioral therapy and other skills based approaches that I draw on in addition to my person centered feminist approach. I am also always adding to my educational experiences and am learning more about dialectical behavioral therapy, somatic based coping skills, as well as expressive art approaches.

My goal as a clinician is to provide each of my clients with a therapeutic experience that is tailored to their needs, wants and personal style. My practice includes:

    - Building and practicing relational skills in sessions that can be applied to the relationships in your life

    - Curious exploration of client’s past and present, as well as their vision for the future

    - Acknowledging and navigating the impacts of oppression on mental health and overall wellness

    - Identifying areas where clients can feel empowered in their lives and building towards self-determination - Inherent and continual respect for the client’s autonomy and experiences

    - Opportunities for art-based therapeutic activities during sessions

    - Opportunities for outdoor or nature-based sessions
